Saturday in Chester

Saturday, 21 June 2014

After all our recent driving, it was nice to have a day that didn't involve travel. Kent rented a bike and rode out into the countryside, geo-caching.

While he was gone, the girls and I walked into Chester and did a little shopping. As we got closer to the high street we could tell that something big was happening. Crowds of people lined the road and music filled the air. It was a parade celebrating the summer solstice and midsummer day. The costumes were incredible. We didn't watch for long, but the little we saw was quite a spectacle.

My high school friend, Ann Underhill, came to have dinner with us. It has been several years since I've seen her. We had a nice evening together and I was glad that she was able to meet Kent, Anna, and Elizabeth.

Another geo-cache found!
