This morning we got up early and drove a little over an hour to the Preston temple. We traveled on multiple motorways during rush hour, which was a little daunting, but we could see the temple spire as we approached on the motorway and somehow that made the crazy driving worthwhile.
I was amazed by the Preston temple grounds. They are beautiful--red roses in bloom everywhere, lily ponds in front of the main doors, manicured gardens leading down to the MTC, Family History Center, Distribution Center and Stake Center. The sun shone and everything looked lovely.
We were much needed in the baptistry. They had to scramble to find men to help and Kent ended up baptizing and confirming over 50 people. Elizabeth and I were baptized for 14 members of our family and were asked to do more for another, older lady who had brought names to the temple. Anna did the confirmations. We spoke to the temple president and his counselor--one is from Scotland and the other is from Ireland. All the workers treated Kent as the hero of the day for doing such an awesome job. :)
Once we returned to Chester, we opted for a quiet afternoon and evening. Anna is still not feeling very well and Elizabeth's allergies have become a family joke. Poor girl! We're hoping rest will help them both. Kent and I walked into Chester. Kent and Dad are cut of the same cloth. We walked into Marks and Spencer for two things and ended up having to buy a bag because Kent had added so much to our order! He made up for it by carrying the heavy load almost a mile back to the flat. :)
Wow so cool! Thanks for all the pictures.
